I have decided I would like to discuss this subject. After all is this what a blog is all about, being able to talk and write about what ever you want.
If anyone is interested in commenting or if you are in a small town and have experienced this type of syndrome before why don't you share with me your experience with anyone who might read this.
Have you ever wondered why most people like to know what everyone is up to or doing, especially about someone who is dynamic, exciting, has a life and has the freedom to do so. Is it because they have nothing else better to do, is it probably just human nature, is it because it gives a topic to talk about at the next gossip session at a hen party?? After all, what they talk about if they didn't have someone to talk about. Can't deny them of their only buzz in life. Being NOSEY, is it just what comes with living full stop, dont you think.
In a way wouldn't you think that if you were the subject in this scenario you would be famous and envied, jealous of who you are and what you can do. Especially to the ones who don't have a life, don't have fun and live the mundane day in and day out things.
I have a friend who made a comment to her about living in a small town, she said that she was too big for the town, she constantly pulled knives out of her back from the jealous, insecure vixons who demised her, obviously found her a threat. She is a beautiful person, intelligent, career driven, enjoys life and has fun.
SO WHO HAS THE LAST LAUGH? THE ONE WITH A LIFE OR THE ONE WITHOUT??

I completely know where you friend was coming from. I lived in a small town my whole life and grew up knowing and accepting that way of life. Its horrible but it is a way of life for people in small towns. Im actually doing a sociology paper on this topic right now :)
An interesting and funny topic, as you said its just the way it is with small towns. Its because everyone knows (or think they know) the whole population that live there. Once there is any kind of scandal or gossip, whether its just hearsay, doesnt matter, its like a thirst that has to be quenched,Its like a fire out of control I reckon. Sometimes the victim could be innocent but that doesnt matter, a seed has been planted, and as long as its watered, it will grow.
I myself was from a small town, moved away but returned many years later. Only to move again, thank god!! But while there I got back into the community, working and playing sports. I then became someone of interest for some reason to the people who of course didnt have lives, obviously leaded a boring and unproductive life, I guess they wanted what I had. On an ocassion I remember being asked by and individual where I was on one particular morning because my car was not in the driveway. I wont tell you what I said back. There are still alot of good apples around, so its not everybody that is nasty.
Just continuing on from this subject, I think there are also other elements as well to being in a small town. Being pulled into other peoples problems becomes a chore after awhile and you just want to stay away, cause if you get too much involved you start to think, I dont want to deal with someone elses crap, they can sort it out themselves. Leave me out of this.
